Motacilla tschutschensis
The Eastern Yellow Wagtail is an Asian species recently recognised as distinct from the Western Yellow Wagtail, now officially recorded as a regular wild autumn vagrant to Britain. Various races pass through British coastal sites on migration, with identification based on head pattern, tone of yellow and call notes. It breeds across Siberia and winters in southern Asia and Africa, with British records concentrated in September and October on east coast headlands.
